When you hear Mike Tyson you probably have a few immediate associations: famous boxer, heavyweight champ, random cameo in The Hangover, and biting off some guy’s ear, just to name a few. Most of us don’t mention Mike Tyson and weed in the same sentence. But then again, most of us don’t know about Tyson Ranch. That’s right, Mike Tyson has a ranch, and it’s a special place. Allow us to introduce you to Mike Tyson’s weed farm.
Imagine a resort dedicated to cannabis. A place where people can go on vacation, relax, unwind, unplug, have fun, and above all, get really high. Well Mike Tyson had this vision, and he’s turning that vision into a reality with this 40-acre marijuana ranch that he is developing in California.
Considering that marijuana recently became legalized for recreational use in California, it should be no surprise that someone had the brilliant idea to capitalize on this green rush and turn pot enthusiasm into a vacation destination. The fact that Mike Tyson is involved in this venture is slightly more shocking, but it’s certainly exciting.
Tyson Ranch is a Big Deal in the Marijuana World
According to a report by the Washington Post, Tyson and his business partners recently broke ground on a “cannabis resort” that is being developed in California City, a town in the Mojave Desert about a 110-mile drive north from Los Angeles.
The resort will be operated by a company called Tyson Holistic, which will focus not just on the enjoyment and education of consumers looking to maximize the newly legal recreational marijuana laws in California, but also for veterans who suffer from PTSD and are seeking relief thanks to CBD, the non-psychoactive chemical compound found in marijuana. Tyson Ranch is located conveniently close to Edwards Air Force Base and taking care of those who have served in the armed forces is a top priority for those operating the resort.
And providing care through marijuana isn’t the only way that the resort is dedicated to helping veterans. This property is being built on a plot of land in the desert that was previously undeveloped and considered a ghost town. Now it is being developed into a booming opportunity for growth and tourism and it will bring jobs back to the community, largely populated by veterans.
What Else will You See at Mike Tyson’s Weed Farm?
According to The Blast, the resort will also feature 20 acres solely for marijuana cultivation, making it a destination for growers as well as consumers and pot enthusiasts. Imagine an opportunity to learn about how pot is grown and cultivated from experts in the field. In addition, there will be a hydro-feed plant and supply store and an extraction facility on site.
And naturally, there will be an edibles factory as well as an amphitheater and areas set aside for upscale camping, aka glamping. Yes it’s a thing, and yes you’ll be able to do it at Tyson Ranch.
The potential of this resort doesn’t stop with education and enjoyment. The operating company also plans to dedicate property and resources to improving and expanding the medical research and treatment of marijuana to help those in need. And you can expect to see innovative technology where marijuana research is concerned.
It seems like the Tyson Ranch will have it all: something for the growers, something for the pot enthusiasts, something for those looking to learn and something for those in need of medical relief and research. The opening date has not been announced, but stay tuned, because Mike Tyson’s weed farm promises to make big waves in the new and exciting cannabis tourism industry.
